    Work as a High-Pressure Boiler Operator for 6-months or more
    Hold a NASOE 3rd Class HP Boiler Engineer License
    Hold a NASOE 1st Class LP Boiler Engineer License (Supervisor) for 24-months
    Have a 2-year College Degree in Technology or Science

Purpose of Class:

Provide student with the requirements to write / sit for the 2nd Class High Pressure HP Boiler Operating Engineer license exam at end of training class.

To comply with the requirements of NASOE Accredited HP Boiler Engineer learning program for boiler and boiler plant systems. The 2nd Class High Pressure HP Boiler Operating Engineer license training course complies with the learning components of NASOE.

This study course is structured to explain, apply and interpret the duties expected of a high-pressure boiler operating engineer who is also titled a 'watch engineer' or 'boiler shift engineer' in a high-pressure steam heating or steam process plant.

The course covers the science (theory) and basic math expected of a 2nd class boiler engineer as well as boiler plant operations and safety. The training class discusses instrumentation and controls as well as boiler design, boiler applications and plant auxiliaries. In addition, the 2nd Class High Pressure HP Boiler Operating Engineer training explains and discusses with illustrations the usages of 'Fuels and Combustion' as well as 'Water Treatment.' Also, this boiler training class explains and applies 'Environmental' issues in boiler plant from flue gas to water discharge.

Finally, this High-Pressure Boiler Engineer course instructs the student on recognizing the hazards of unsafe high-pressure plant operation and what to do in the event of a steam, boiler water or condensate discharge. The course is offers many good ‘rule of thumbs’ that are readily applied to many situations.

Grading Policy:

    There will be quizzes everyday and one-final then the license exam.
    Quizzes are given in the morning and afternoon
    Quizzes account for 50% of Grade
    Final accounts for 50% of Grade

Registered but Unable to Attend

If unable to attend the course, substituting another person is acceptable.  In addition, there is no refund for cancellations within three-weeks before the training class start-date.
 

Industrial Training School is a provider of training programs for small businesses, corporations, non-profits and government agencies.  All courses are taught by a National Association of Stationary Operating Engineers certified Instructor and / or American Society of Power Engineers Certified Instructor(s). Guest speakers maybe added to the program.
